The One to Watch in Protective Security

Emerging Luminary in Protective Security Award

This accolade celebrates a rising star in protective security – a woman in the early stages of her physical security career who is already making a meaningful impact on how people, assets, and places are protected in the real world. It recognises emerging excellence in areas such as guarding, risk and threat assessment, access control, surveillance, protective services, physical security design, and security operations across sectors like critical infrastructure, transport, corporate, government, and public venues. The award shines a light on those whose practical contributions, fresh thinking, and operational leadership demonstrate strong potential to shape the future of the protective security industry.

Nomination Questions (Protective / Physical Security Only):

  1. Detail the nominee’s key accomplishments in physical/protective security to date (e.g. operations, projects, initiatives or roles) that clearly demonstrate her potential as a future leader in the field.

  2. Share insights into the physical security challenges she has successfully overcome (such as incidents, operational constraints, stakeholder resistance or complex risk environments) and how she addressed them.

  3. Describe how the nominee has influenced the broader protective security landscape beyond her immediate site, team, or organisation – for example through industry engagement, knowledge sharing, standards, or community safety initiatives.

  4. Illustrate how the nominee is actively demonstrating excellence and driving innovation in protective security practice – this could include new procedures, technologies, training approaches, or improvements to on-the-ground security outcomes.

  5. As an emerging star in protective security, outline the nominee’s plans for the future, including her career and learning goals, and her vision for contributing to the ongoing development and professionalisation of the physical security industry.
